The Z01 project contributes to the management, enhancement, and utilization of data generated by the SFB Metaflammation. As the central project, we develop tools, provide support, and deliver training to maximize the information gain from the available data, all aimed at deciphering the complex mechanisms underlying metaflammation.
We focus on several key areas:
Efficient Data Handling - We enhance infrastructure and integration across projects, building on resources such as MetaflammDB and supporting data release to standard databases with a tight collaboration with the Infrastructure project.
Data and Bioinformatics Support - We address diverse needs, from tool development for accessible data exploration to tailored solutions for specific research questions. Key focus areas include multi-omics integration, spatial omics analysis, and organoid data analysis.
Mathematical Modeling - To foster hypothesis testing and mechanistic understanding, we develop tailored mathematical models. Special attention is given to areas such as aryl hydrocarbon receptor modeling, lipid metabolism modeling, and spatial structure and neighbor interaction modeling.
In addition to uncovering biological insights into metaflammation, we maintain and advance essential tools, including cOmicsART, PEtab, pyPESTO, and AMICI. Customized training programs address the specific needs of SFB members, equipping them with the skills to fully leverage the data and tools to overall allow for a better understanding of Metaflammation.
