Junior Professor Marie-Christine Simon successfully applied for start-up funding from the SFB to support her project entitled Influence of alimentary salt intake on gut microbiota, metaflammation and intestinal glucose and salt transport in individuals at diabetes risk.

The SFB management committee agreed that Marie-Christine would be a valuable addition to the SFB, and that the project is promising also within the overal aims of the SFB. The start-up funding includes €11.000 for consumables as well as a postdoc salary for one year, and has been awarded within the framework of early career support by the SFB.
